15 days after we welcomed baby Sana into the world, it was time for her newborn portraits. It was so fun to see this sweet family again in my studio, relatively well rested and enjoying settling in as a new family. Sana had very little interest in sleeping – I think she is an extremely observant baby and there was a lot to take in! – so this session focused mostly on “in arms” photos with mom and dad (which I have to say are my favorite part of every newborn session – a few baby poses are fun, but seeing a new family snuggle together is my jam.) I love sleepy newborns, but I love wide-awake newborns too – looking into their eyes they always seem like old souls to me, just a few days old but with this depth and *knowing* that seems far beyond their days.
