Finding the words for this blog post is hard for me this go around. This is a story of love, and dashed expectations, and more love. Pretty much nothing has gone as “expected” for this little family – a difficult pregnancy, a birth-center-to-hospital transfer-to-c-section, an unexpected medical condition that wasn’t detected on ultrasound and has required lots of casts and braces and discomfort and many many trips to a specialist for this little guy who isn’t even two months old yet, the list goes on and on. I wish I could give this amazing mom and dad the gift of “easy”, but I hope that what I CAN give them with these photos is that someday when these days are far behind them, they will be able to look back and remember the beautiful parts. The tiny fingers and tiny toes, the snuggles and kisses and love that they found and nurtured through the struggles and the dark places. Nothing worth doing in life is easy – and creating a new human, bringing that little being into the world, and nurturing the life and soul of that baby – these are things worth doing. The difficulty perhaps matches the importance – and it is the most important thing a parent will ever do. I look at these photos and I don’t see the struggle – I see the love, the “worth doing”, the joy that is little Luke Alexander.
Everything about this is just beautiful. 🙂
What a beautiful family and a gorgeous session!! Absolute perfection Heidi
